U.S. law firm Holland & Knight has named former Al Tamimi & Co partner Steven Hunt as partner in the firm’s construction practice, based in Abu Dhabi. Hunt is the latest in a string of hires at Holland & Knight since the beginning of the year.

Hunt, who was the regional head of Al Tamimi’s construction and engineering practice, will focus on construction law, engineering, and dispute resolution in his new role. Hunt had also served as head of construction and projects at Dubai-based property developer Nakheel, and had been a regional partner with Masons Galadari, a specialist construction law firm in Dubai.

"Over the past decade, Steven has been involved in some of the largest and most high profile construction projects in the Emirates, from the Dubai Waterfront and International City to the Atlantis The Palm Hotel & Resort, and Jumeirah Golf Estates," said Andrew Stephenson, executive partner of Holland & Knight’s Abu Dhabi office. "His deep knowledge of the construction industry and construction law in the Gulf region will be a valuable asset to our clients here and abroad as we continue to grow our presence in this key sector."

Hunt is the fifth lawyer to join the firm in 2012 as Holland & Knight seeks to expand its presence in the region through its Abu Dhabi office.
