India’s HSA Advocates has hired banking and finance specialist Sharmil Bhushan as a partner in Mumbai from Khaitan Legal Associates (KLA)

Bhushan is the firm’s third lateral partner hire this year, the other two being real estate specialist Amaresh Kumar Singh from L&L Partners and corporate expert Sunando Mukherjee from Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas. Both joined in Delhi.

With more than 14 years of experience, Bhushan advises on matters such as structuring and funds formation. She also represents boards of listed and unlisted companies on governance and other related issues.

Before joining KLA, Bhushan was the head of legal and compliance at Essel Finance. She also worked at law firms Thakker & Thakker and Economic Laws Practice.
