Herbert Smith Freehills will relocate energy partner David Clinch from Hong Kong to Singapore as it looks to boost its Southeast Asia energy practice.

Clinch has worked for more than 17 years in Asia offices, including Singapore. His practice includes acquisitions and disposals, project development, project finance, joint ventures and off-take arrangements within the oil and gas, power, mining, refining, chemical and infrastructure sectors.

“We are delighted to have David rejoin our Singapore team. Singapore is a key hub in a region and a market that is very important to our aspirations to be the world's leading energy law firm,” said Alastair Henderson, the firm’s Southeast Asia managing partner, in a statement.

Herbert Smith Freehills now has 80 energy partners globally.
