Jones Day has expanded its disputes team in Hong Kong office after hiring Samuel Ngo as a partner from fellow U.S. firm K&L Gates.

Ngo, who specializes in litigation and arbitration, joined K&L as a partner in 2013 from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, where he was an of counsel. 

His clients have included the Hong Kong Government, state-owned enterprises in Mainland China, property developers, insurance companies and financial institutions. Among key recent work, Ngo has represented the Democratic Republic of Congo in a State Immunity argument, and the receivers of the controlling stake of an English football club in a debt restructuring. 

With Ngo on board, Jones Day now has six partners in its Hong Kong office, four of whom do disputes work.
