Arbitration specialist John Savage has been named as the new managing partner of King & Spalding’s Singapore office, with his predecessor Philip R. Weems returning to Houston.

Savage, who was one of the founders of the Singapore office, is a partner in King & Spalding’s international arbitration practice group, and the head of the regional arbitration practice. He has more than 10 years of experience in Asia.

Weems will continue to serve as co-leader of the firm’s global energy practice, while maintaining an active practice in the Asia-Pacific region.

Aside from Singapore, King & Spalding also named a new managing partner in Atlanta, with Alan J. Prince taking over from Mason W. Stephenson.

“Mason has provided our Atlanta office with excellent and steady direction for more than a decade, and Philip has played pivotal roles in the establishment and success of our Middle East and, more recently, Singapore offices,” said King & Spalding chairman Robert D. Hays, Jr., in a statement. “We thank them for their many contributions, and also congratulate Alan and John on their new positions. I am sure the firm will benefit from the strong leadership they will provide.”

King & Spalding currently has 800 lawyers in 17 offices in the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
