Korean law firm Yulchon has hired Nina Kim as a partner in its corporate and finance practice from Kim & Chang, the largest firm in the country, where she was a senior foreign attorney.
Kim, who spent more than a decade at Kim & Chang, has experience in transactions and projects such as cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, joint ventures, and strategic alliances. She has advised on capital investments made by foreign companies in Korea in various industries, including in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food and automobile sectors.
Prior to working in Korea, Kim worked in New York for 10 years at international firms, including Paul Hastings.
Yulchon has expanded significantly in the past 12 months and is now the fourth-largest Korean law firm, according to ALB’s Top 50 Largest Law Firms ranking for 2017, up from No. 5 last year. Kim & Chang remains the country’s largest, with 860 lawyers.
