White & Case has appointed Kim Jun-hee as an international arbitration partner from Hyundai Heavy Industries, where he was international general counsel.
Kim will be based in Seoul after getting approval as a foreign legal consultant by the Korean Ministry of Justice. He has broad experience advising on international arbitrations in Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America and North America, as well as acting for clients in the construction, engineering, intellectual property, technology and shipping sectors.
“Jun Hee will play an important role in meeting increased demand for arbitrations in Korea involving some of the largest shipbuilders and construction companies in Asia-Pacific,” said James K. Lee, the firm’s executive partner in Seoul, in a statement.
Launched in 2015, W&C’s Seoul branch will have five partners the addition of Kim, making it the largest office of an international firm in South Korea by partner count, as most have a single partner stationed there.
