Latham & Watkins has hired Ivan Smallwood, Noah Carr, and Stuart Beraha as partners in the Tokyo office from Morrison & Foerster.

Their hires come after Latham lost hired litigation partner Daisuke Yoshida to Morrison & Foerster in Tokyo.

Smallwood and Carr have experience advising Japanese corporates and sponsors on structuring and negotiating outbound acquisitions, investments and divestitures, strategic alliances, and joint venture transactions. Meanwhile, Beraha’s practice focuses on technology, content, branding, and other intellectual property development, licensing and partnering transactions.

The departures of the three partners come weeks after Morrison & Foerster lost corporate partner Dale M. Araki to K&L Gates.
