Linklaters has hired ex-Allen & Overy partner David Kidd to head its pan-Asian restructuring and insolvency (R&I) practice.

Kidd, who left Allen & Overy last September, is expected to join the firm’s Hong Kong office in October.

Kidd will work closely with partner Melvin Sng and the corporate and finance groups to develop the firm’s R&I practice.

The Magic Circle firm has played leading roles in Hong Kong on the insolvencies of Lehman Brothers and MF Global.

In addition to Kidd, Linklaters is reported to have hired disputes partner Gavin Lewis from Herbert Smith Freehills last month, as well as antitrust expert Clara Ingen-Housz from Baker & McKenzie in June.
