Mayer Brown JSM has hired Rod Brown as a partner in its corporate & securities practice in Singapore from Latham & Watkins.

Experienced in public and private M&A, private equity transactions, restructurings, strategic investments, joint ventures and general corporate matters, Brown has acted for multinationals in India, Indonesia and elsewhere across sectors such as energy and natural resources, technology, media and telecommunications, and hospitality, gaming and leisure.

“[Brown’s] experience in cross-border M&A and private equity transactions will not only greatly enhance our capabilities in Singapore, it will also add tremendous value to our service offerings for our clients across Southeast Asia," said Kevin Owen, managing partner of Mayer Brown JSM's Singapore office, in a statement.

Earlier this year, the firm’s Hong Kong office hired corporate partner Nicholas Chan from Sidley Austin.
