Minter Ellison has added competition and regulatory specialist Matthew Knox as a partner in the firm’s Perth office. Knox joins from Corrs Chambers Westgarth where he was also a partner.

His practice specialises in front and back end competition (merger clearance and restrictive trade practices) and regulatory (open access, electricity markets) law and energy and resources. He has advised state regulators and private clients on access arrangements for gas pipelines, railways, ports and the wholesale electricity market generally, and private sector clients on infrastructure, oil, mining and electricity projects.

The Perth office of Minter Ellison became financially integrated with the east coast offices in late 2011, following the division of the former Minter Ellison Perth office. The majority of partners from that former office established the Perth office of Squire Sanders. Knox is the fifth lateral appointment at the Perth Minter Ellison office since its integration and the third lateral recruit from Corrs Chambers Westgarth.
