UK law firm Nabarro has increased the number of partners at its Singapore office from three to four with the relocation of construction partner Gerlando Butera from London.

Butera is expected to beef up the firm’s Singapore construction, engineering, and international arbitration practice. The dispute resolution specialist has more than 25 years of experience in infrastructure and energy projects.

Butera’s arrival comes shortly after the addition of Korea specialist David Kim to Nabarro’s Singapore office in June.

"Gerlando has a vast amount of experience of working on international projects which complements the strategy of the Singapore office,” said Emerson Holmes, the office head, in a statement. “He will play a vital role in ensuring we continue to capitalise on the opportunities which are increasingly coming our way."

Apart from Butera, the partners in Nabarro’s Singapore office are Holmes, Kim and Glenn Cheng, who was recruited from Norton Rose last year. Nabarro opened its office in the city-state in 2010.
