Eversheds has appointed Iain Black, a veteran arbitration and construction lawyer, to head the firm’s Asia construction and infrastructure practice. Black will be based in Singapore.

Black, who has extensive experience in the construction and infrastructure projects throughout Asia, was until 2010, a UK-based partner at Davies Arnold Cooper prior to its merger with Beachcroft to form DAC Beachcroft last year.

Earlier in his career, he was one of the founding partners of Masons’ Singapore office and a senior partner at Masons’ Hong Kong office, prior to Masons’ merger with Pinsent in 2004. Black was involved in a number of infrastructure projects in Asia from 1989 to 1996.

“Iain is a first class lawyer who has been involved in drafting the consortium documentation for a variety of Asia’s landmark infrastructure,” said Nick Seddon, Eversheds’ Asia managing partner, in a statement. “We look forward to welcoming him into the helm of our firm.” ALB
