Norton Rose Fulbright has hired Etelka Bogardi as a corporate partner in Hong Kong from the city’s de facto central bank, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), where she was senior counsel.

During her three-year stint at the HKMA, Bogardi advised on all aspects of its operations, including banking conduct and stability, supervision, policy, enforcement, monetary management and direct investment. In her new role at Norton Rose, she is expected to work concentrate on providing financial services regulation advice.

“We are pleased to have Etelka on board, she brings with her a strong combination of both technical execution skills and an understanding of regulatory compliance requirements for the financial services sector,” said Psyche Tai, the firm’s Hong Kong head, in a statement.

Bogardi’s hire boosts the firm’s financial services regulatory offering, which lost partner Charlotte Robins to Allen & Overy last year.
