O'Melveny & Myers has hired Li Han as a corporate partner in its Hong Kong office from Singapore-based private investment firm Shanda Group, where she was the general counsel.

Shanda Group, which is owned and led by Chinese online gaming magnate Chen Tianqiao, is a subsidiary of Shanda Interactive Entertainment, which O'Melveny advised on it $152 million Nasdaq initial public offering in 2004.

Li is experienced in M&A and capital-raising transactions, venture and private equity investments, fund investments, as well as supervising public company disclosure, governance, and corporate compliance programs across multiple jurisdictions.

“She is well known and well connected in the entrepreneur, investment, and finance communities, and she will enhance our delivery of business-oriented counselling to our clients,” said Bradley Butwin, the firm’s chair, in a statement.

Before her in-house role at Shanda, Li had stints as an associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell in Hong Kong and Sullivan & Cromwell in New York.

With the addition of Li, O'Melveny has 12 corporate lawyers, including five partners, in Hong Kong. Last month, the firm advised the underwriters of Sinopec Oilfield Service’s $1.2 billion share offering in Hong Kong and Shanghai. In December, the firm represented China Securities (International) Corporate Finance as the sole sponsor and one of the joint bookrunners for Chinese online game publisher Digital Hollywood Interactive’s $40 million IPO in Hong Kong.
