O’Melveny & Myers has hired capital markets specialist Gigi Woo as a partner of its Hong Kong office. She joins from Standard Chartered Bank, where she was its global head of debt and equity capital markets legal.

Prior to her role at Standard Chartered, she served on the legal teams of investment banks across Asia, including Deutsche Bank and Goldman Sachs. In her in-house positions, she oversaw debt and equity capital markets transactions, securitisations, financings, initial public offerings, and M&As. Before joining these banks, Woo worked at Clifford Chance and at Slaughter and May in Hong Kong. She is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.

Commenting on OMM’s newest arrival, managing partner of the Hong Kong office David Johnson said in a statement: “Gigi’s arrival bolsters our Hong Kong capital markets scale and capabilities, enhancing our ability to offer seamless listing support on a global basis. Gigi is well-known for her rigor, depth of knowledge, and hands-on approach.”
