Global law firm Reed Smith has bolstered its Hong Kong office with the hire of Arthur Tso as a partner from DLA Piper, where he co-headed the equity capital markets practice.

With experience in capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions, equity financings, and private equity investments, Tso represents multinational corporations, issuers, majority shareholders, underwriters, and global sponsors on IPOs, secondary offerings, secondary listings, and dual primary listings.

Tso's expertise also extends to representing private equity investors, investment funds, financial consortiums, and professional investors in various transactions. These include public and private mergers and acquisitions, general offers, privatisations, strategic investments, takeover bids, and investments in equity and convertible instruments.

Additionally, he regularly advises Hong Kong-listed companies, major shareholders, and SFC licensed persons on compliance matters, handling trading resumption proposals, shareholder disputes, and other regulatory issues.

Prior to his role at DLA Piper Tso spent nearly a decade at Kirkland & Ellis, including over four years as a partner. He began his legal career at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and Affiliates.

With this latest addition, Reed Smith's Hong Kong office now has 64 lawyers, including 24 partners. The firm recently announced plans to close its Beijing outpost.
