Rockwell Olivier has appointed Hamilton Blackstone Lawyers founder and managing director Cristean Yazbeck as the head of its financial services at its Sydney office.

As Head of Financial Services, Yazbeck will focus on FOFA and Stronger Super reforms, managed investment schemes, Significant Investor Visas, AFS and RSE licensing. He will also be dealing with regulatory bodies, self-managed superannuation and defined benefit schemes.

"We welcome Cristean’s experience and leadership in the support of our clients in financial services,” Peter Bobbin, Managing Principal of Rockwell Olivier's Sydney office, said. “This is the largest sector in the Australian economy, and an important focus for our business," he added.

John Ridgway, Managing Principal (International) and leader of the Sydney corporate/commercial team, said: "The expansion by our holding company, ILH Group Ltd, into the recent acquisitions of complementary businesses in the private and wealth management sectors is just one key reason why securing Cristean as part of our growing team is so important.”

Yazbeck will be working closely with both Bobbin and Ridgway.

Rockwell Olivier provides specialist capabilities across all areas of corporate and personal financial services law, in addition to corporate and commercial law, international law, commercial litigation, taxation and private client services.
