Indian law firm Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co has hired a second capital markets partner in 2024 with the addition of partner Rohit Tiwari from rival Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas in Mumbai.

Tiwari’s hire comes amid a rise in public capital deals and listings on India’s bourses are witnessing an upswing. Domestic and international law firms are keen to increase their presence in India’s capital markets transactions. SAM also brought back capital markets partner Devi Prasad Patel from Khaitan & Co in January.

Tiwari, who had been with CAM for close to a decade, specializes in securities law, representing and advising clients across a wide range of sectors on public offerings, including REITs, InvITs, IPOs, institutional placements, and bond issuances.

SAM currently has 166 partners across its offices in India.
