Norton Rose Fulbright has hired shipping finance partner Jonathan Silver from Howse William Bowers in Hong Kong.

Silver had worked for 10 years at Norton Rose Fulbright in Hong Kong before leaving to join Howse William Bowers as a partner in August last year.

Silver specialises in ship finance and other shipping matters, including loans, leasing, sale and purchase, building contracts, charterparties, guarantees, joint ventures, pooling and management.

He will work closely with banking and finance partners Davide Barzilai in Hong Kong, Fei Kwok in Beijing and Shanghai, and shipping dispute resolution and litigation partner Jim James in Hong Kong.

Silver is the fourth partner to join Norton Rose Fulbright’s shipping practice in the past 18 months, following Hazel Brasington in Melbourne and Brad Berman and Brian Devine in New York.

Norton Rose Fulbright now has 18 partners in its Hong Kong office.
