Simmons & Simmons has expanded its Hong Kong practice with the hire of finance partner Jolyon Ellwood-Russell from DLA Piper in Hong Kong.

Ellwood-Russell, previously a finance partner at DLA Piper, specialises in debt finance which spans banking, acquisition finance and project finance. He also advises on structured trade and commodity finance.

He has advised on the financing of infrastructure and renewable energy projects, and cross-border debt financing transactions in China, Asia and Europe.

Ellwood-Russell will work closely with banking partners Dan Marjanovic and Yongmei Cai who are based in Singapore and Beijing, respectively.

Ellwood-Russell’s appointment means Simmons & Simmons now has 18 partners in Hong Kong.
