Jones Day has hired Elizabeth Cole as a partner in Singapore from Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe in Hong Kong, where she was a partner in that firm's emerging markets practice.

Cole's practice includes M&A and general corporate matters, particularly in the life sciences and information technology sectors, as well as employment law. She has worked for more than 20 years in Brisbane, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Melbourne, Shanghai, Singapore, and Sydney.

Cole has represented clients on the establishment, structuring, and operation of their businesses in Asia, including preparation of joint venture agreements, management contracts, employment contracts, workplace practices and policies, and technology transfer agreements.

“We are delighted that Elizabeth will be joining Jones Day in Singapore,” said Sushma Jobanputra, partner-in-charge of Jones Day's Singapore Office, in a statement. “Elizabeth is an excellent lawyer and her international experience, especially across Asia, will significantly support our continued growth throughout the region and be an invaluable part of the service we provide our clients.”

Cole’s arrival takes the total number of partners at Jones Day’s Singapore office to 12.
