Slaughter and May has hired disputes expert Ralph Sellar as a partner in Hong Kong partner from Debevoise & Plimpton, where he was a counsel.

Sellar’s addition marks Slaughters’ first Hong Kong lateral partner hire since 2019, when it welcomed back Jing Chen from the Hong Kong Exchange (HKEx).

Sellar spent eight years at Debevoise in London and Hong Kong, having joined the firm in 2014 from Herbert Smith Freehills. He advises on commercial and financial services-related disputes and regulatory matters.

With his hire, Slaughters now has 13 partners in Hong Kong.
