Stephenson Harwood has set up a banking practice in Singapore after hiring Gregory Xu as a consultant from Clifford Chance.

Xu, who was a senior associate at his previous firm, will lead Stephenson Harwood’s cross-border general banking and project financing services offering in Singapore.

With over a decade of experience in private practice, Xu has acted for financial institutions, funds, government agencies and companies advising on structuring, documenting and restructuring transactions in the fields of general/corporate finance, project finance, asset finance, trade finance, acquisition finance and leverage finance.

Xu has acted for clients in China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam. He also advises on aviation, shipping and offshore oil and gas financings.

Prior to his stint with Clifford Chance, Xu was a senior associate at Norton Rose Fulbright.
