newsThailand’s Tilleke & Gibbins has hired five capital markets lawyers in Bangkok, led by partner Yaowarote Klinboon, from the local office of U.S. law firm Hunton Andrews Kurth.

Joining Yaowarote in the move are senior associates Karinevidch Olivero, Phatamol Phisitbuntoon, and Sittiwate Jewsittiprapai, and associate Wisara Harnchonboth.

With more than 20 years of experience in domestic and international capital markets work, Yaowarote is experienced in U.S., Singaporean and Thai securities law. She also advises on general corporate matters, corporate governance, and M&A, as well as offerings of equity and debt instruments.

Yaowarote, who started her career at the legacy Weerawong, Chinnavat & Peangpanor in 2003, left that firm in 2015 to join The Capital Law Office. She moved to the pre-merger Hunton & Williams in 2017, becoming a partner in November 2021.

Her departure from Hunton Andrews Kurth comes some months after the firm lost corporate specialist Maythawee Sarathai in Bangkok to Siam Premier International Law Office.

With Yaowarote’s arrival, Tilleke now has 25 partners in Bangkok, including Derrick Khoo, who joined in late 2021 from Marga Group. The firm recently hired corporate lawyer Tram Ngoc Bich Nguyen as a partner in Ho Chi Minh City from YKVN.
