U.S. law firm K&L Gates has hired project finance specialist Dominic Gregory as a partner in Tokyo from the London office of Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner.
With nearly three decades of experience, Gregory advises on project financings and project developments in mining, oil and gas, nuclear, petrochemicals, renewable energy and infrastructure such as aircraft, road, rail, ships, casinos, real estate, data centres and battery storage.
Prior to joining BCLP, Gregory worked at Ashurst, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, White & Case, and Clifford Chance. He becomes K&L Gates’ second project finance partner hire in Asia this year after the addition of Sarah Park in Singapore.
Gregory’s hiring comes at a time when law firms in Japan have been bolstering their offerings in the projects and project finance space, particularly in renewables. In the past year or so, firms making lateral hires in this area have included White & Case (twice), DLA Piper, and Ashurst.
With this addition, K&L Gates now has 14 partners in Tokyo.
