Indian law firm Trilegal has hired tax specialist Meyyappan Nagappan (L) and disputes expert Shalaka Patil as partners in Mumbai from Nishith Desai Associates and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, respectively.

Trilegal has now announced four new lateral partner hires since July. A few weeks ago, it added competition expert Rudresh Singh in Delhi from L&L Partners, and corporate specialist Pranav Atit in Mumbai from AZB & Partners.

Nagappan has more than 12 years of experience in digital taxation, international tax and social finance, and advises technology, e-commerce, online media, gaming, crypto, and NFT companies on tax structuring, policy issues and litigation strategy.

Prior to joining NDA four years ago,  he worked for a number of government bodies, including as an in-house counsel at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, India’s largest energy company.

With more than 12 years of experience focusing on international and domestic arbitration, general commercial litigation and dispute advisory services, Patil acts for clients in commercial disputes involving shareholder rights, infrastructure, energy and construction as well as bilateral investment treaties. Her primary focus is arbitrations – both institutional and ad-hoc – seated in Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Goa, Singapore, Zurich and London.

With these additions, the partnership strength of Trilegal will grow to 82.
