Vietnamese legal powerhouse Vilaf has welcomed founding partner Ngo Thanh Tung back to the firm following the completion of his doctoral studies in the U.S., and named Vo Ha Duyen managing partner of the firm's head office in Ho Chi Minh City.
Tung specialises in corporate and M&A, apart from dispute resolution. Speaking on the development, the managing partner of the Hanoi office, Tran Tuan Phong, said, “Our firm has been growing significantly, and we are steadily increasing the number of our partners. The focus isn’t just on new partners, though we are also maintaining close ties with existing partners like Mr. Tung. He developed a firmwide strategy, and it’s a strong boost for the office that he is back.”
Duyen handles M&A, corporate and capital markets transactions, and recently counseled global investment firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) on its $159 million acquisition of shares in Vietnamese FMCG company Masan Consumer. She has also acted for the Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group on its $90 million international bond listing transaction. ALB
