Singapore boutique Meritus Law has hired Ushan Premaratne as a director from Withers KhattarWong, where he was an equity partner.

Premaratne advises shareholders, private equity firms, venture capital funds and joint ventures focusing on litigation and international arbitration in the technology sector. He represents clients before SIAC, ICC, AIAC, AAA, HKIAC and CAS.

Premaratne, who had been a partner at Withers KhattarWong in 2017, joined KhattarWong in 2011. The two firms entered into an alliance in 2015.

Meritus Law was founded last year by Alfred Lim and Jamie Lye, who left Fullerton Law Chambers, a firm Lim had co-founded. It currently has four directors, including Premaratne.
