Korean law firm Yoon & Yang has strengthened its criminal practice with the hire of former chief prosecutor Young Kon Cho as a partner in Seoul.
Cho joins Yoon & Yang’s white-collar criminal defence group, which comprises 30 attorneys who advise both Korean and international clients on criminal matters.
As the former chief prosecutor for the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office, Cho supervised criminal investigations and prosecutions of high-profile criminal cases.
At Yoon & Yang, he will continue to focus on white-collar criminal matters including tax and financial fraud, antitrust violations, corruption, embezzlement and corporate criminal breaches of fiduciary duties.
The addition of Cho is Yoon & Yang’s second high-profile hire this year. In January, the firm brought the former CEO of the Korean Environment Corporation on board to bolster its energy and environment group and its legislative and government affairs practice.
