Al Tamimi and and FreshFields Bruckhaus Deringer have advised Goshawk Aviation on its $507 million acquisition of 15 Airbus A320s from the leasing arm of Kuwaiti low-cost carrier Jazeera Airways Group, which was represented by ASAR - Al Ruwayeh.

The deal is the largest asset acquisition in Kuwait so far this year, and Reuters reported that it will enable Jazeera to move out of leasing and instead focus on expansion of its passenger business.

The Al Tamimi team representing Goshawk, a joint venture between South Africa's Investec Bank and Hong Kong conglomerate Chow Tai Fook Enterprises, is led by partner Philip Kotsis. ASAR - Al Ruwayeh is representing both Jazeera Airways and its leasing arm, Al Sahaab Aircraft Leasing.
