Clifford Chance and King & Wood Mallesons have advised on Hong Kong generator and engines firm VPower Group on its $208 million initial public offering, with Shearman & Sterling and Commerce & Finance Law Offices advising the banks.

VPower Group, which generates electricity from natural gas and diesel-based engines in regions of China and Southeast Asia short of energy supply, will use the proceeds from its Hong Kong IPO to fund further expansion, particularly into emerging markets in Africa and the Middle East. 

Other law firms advising VPower were Dr Kamal Hossain and Associates, Conyers Dill & Pearman, JLD & MB Legal Consultancy, Linda Widyati & Partners and DFDL Myanmar.

The Shearman team was led by partners Colin Law, Peter Chen and Alan Yeung in Hong Kong, and Kyungwon Lee in New York.
