Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) has advised India’s JSW Energy Limited on its 27 billion rupee ($402 million) acquisition of a unit of Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited (JPVL), which was represented by Vaish Associates.

As part of the deal, JPVL will transfer its operational 500 MW coal-fired thermal power plant located at Bina, Madhya Pradesh, to JSW Energy by May next year. JSW plans to achieve a power generation capacity of 10,000 MW by 2020. 

The CAM team that worked on the transaction included partners L. Viswanathan, Tushar Mavani, Ramanuj Kumar and Bharat Budholia.
