Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Denmark’s Carlsberg Breweries on its $744 million acquisition of the remaining 33.33 percent stake in its Indian and Nepalese operations from partner CSAPL.

Nepalese law firm Pioneer Law advised the beer giant on the local aspects of the transaction.

The deal grants Carlsberg full ownership of its Indian subsidiary, Carlsberg India, and a 99.94 percent stake in Gorkha Brewery in Nepal. It is one of the largest corporate share deals in Nepal's history, marking a significant milestone in the country's corporate landscape.

The deal is expected to allow Carlsberg to consolidate its position in two South Asian markets and accelerate investments to capture long-term growth opportunities.

The Norton Rose Fulbright team was led by Singapore-based partner Craig Loveless, with support from senior associate Dexter Tan. The deal advisory team also included partners Dominic Stuttaford and Katie Chung, and Singapore Ascendant Legal managing director Chew Kei-Jin; senior associates Ang Kai Ye and Chris Bell; associates Wong Yan Yee and Elisabeth Trotter; and legal executive Nina Stammbach.

The Pioneer Law team was led by Anup Raj Upreti and Lazzu Shrestha.
