Stephenson Harwood has advised Singaporean transport operator ComfortDelGro on its 269-million-pound ($349 million) acquisition of the British private hire cab and courier company Addison Lee, whose shareholders were represented by Linklaters.

In an SGX filing, ComfortDelGro said that the acquisition would help it expand into the premium mobility market, and grow its taxi and private-hire network to more than 34,000 vehicles globally.

The Business Times reported that Addison Lee is the largest premium point-to-point operator in Britain, with 7,500 drivers and 5,000 vehicles. It added that ComfortDelGro also currently operates CityFleet Networks in several locations across Britain, as well as several bus and coach services.

The Stephenson Harwood team was led by corporate finance partner David Dowding, supported by associates Charmaine Yuen, Bryton Chin, and Alex Goodman. Further assistance was provided by private equity partner Chris Manning and managing associate Alex Stevens, litigation partner Richard Garcia and associate Peter Sequeira, tax partner John Meehan, managing associate Byul Han and associate Ruth Hainsworth, employment partner Richard Freedman and associate Emily Daly, and IP partner Rob Jacob and associate Alice Routh.

The Linklaters team was co-led by private equity partner Andrew Lynch and corporate M&A partner Namrata Shah, alongside banking partner Nick Le Masurier, litigation partner Rory Conway, tax partner Alexei Franks, private equity managing associate William Peck, and corporate M&A associate Monique Fraser.
