Legal Impact Of The Trans-Pacific Partnership
Event: 9.00am to 5.00pm (Singapore Time)
5 years of trade talks. 30 chapters. 12 countries*. A combined annual GDP of US$28 trillion that represents roughly 40 percent of global GDP and one-third of world trade. The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is set to become the most important trade agreement in more than 20 years—with an impact similar to the creation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) or China joining the World Trade Organization (WTO).
This trade deal not only represents significant commercial opportunities for companies operating in these countries but also massive legal and regulatory challenges that will impact corporate leaders, business stakeholders and the In-House/General counsels who provide vital legal stewardship for companies. It is therefore critical that they start reviewing the TPP texts, and planning and preparing now to fully benefit from the TPP when it is ratified over the next few months.
Asian Legal Business (ALB)’s “Legal Impact Of The TPP” examines the legal and business implications of what is the most important trade negotiation in Asia. Participants will also get a good understanding of what to expect and learn how to prepare for impending changes and opportunities. The event will focus on critical issues impacting multinational corporations seeking new markets and operating within the Asia-Pacific region.
