Addleshaw Goddard has opened its third office in the Middle East in the space of just nine months by launching an outpost in the Qatari capital of Doha.
The Doha office, which follows openings in Dubai and Muscat, will offer expertise in construction, projects, corporate, finance, arbitration, renewable energy, private wealth management and litigation. It will be led by Hussein Damirji, formerly a partner at U.S. law firm Patton Boggs.
Damirji, who specialises in corporate, commercial and family office investments, will be joined by banking and finance partner Martin Brown. Brown joins from Denton's Doha office.
“We are very pleased that Hussein and Martin are joining us to lead our offering in Qatar,” said Paul Devitt, Addleshaw Goddard’s managing partner, in a statement. “Both Hussein and Martin are incredibly well respected and their track records, combined with our strong presence in Oman and Dubai, sends out a clear message about our long-term commitment to the region and to Qatar in particular."
In September 2012, Addleshaw Goddard opened its Dubai office, which is led by construction and engineering specialist Andrew Greaves. It then opened in Oman in January 2013, in association with Nasser al Habsi Law Firm. That office is led by banking, finance and project finance law expert Roger Byrne and corporate specialist Charles Schofield.
