Shanghai-headquartered AllBright Law Offices is set to open its doors in Hong Kong, its first office outside mainland China, after receiving approval from the Law Society of Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong office, set to open on Nov. 15, will enter into an association with local firm Stevenson Wong & Co.

David Chen, an intellectual property, civil litigation and arbitration partner, will relocate from Shanghai to head the Hong Kong office.

In addition, Shanghai-based real estate partner Luo Jianrong and Shenzhen corporate partner Du Xiaodong will relocate to Hong Kong.

“The Hong Kong office will focus on capital markets, cross-border investment and finance,” said Victor Wang, a partner at AllBright in Shanghai.

Wang added that the office will also have dispute resolution capabilities, particularly in Hong Kong arbitration and IP-related matters.

The Hong Kong launch will mark AllBright’s 10th office.
