Allen & Overy has opened it sixth ASEAN office in Yangon, Myanmar.

The Yangon office will be managed by Simon Makinson with assistance from two other senior lawyers, and a sector specialist team made up of partners and lawyers from the firm’s Bangkok and Singapore offices.

“Besides telecom, we have also been active in banking and finance, energy (including oil and gas), infrastructure, and manufacturing and consumer goods,” said Makinson in a statement.

The Yangon office brings the firm’s Asia-Pacific office count to 12, including offices in Singapore, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Jakarta.
