In the past two months a number of senior legal professionals have made moves from one company to another.

David Jones has recently appointed  new general counsel and company secretary  Susan Leppinus, who has joined the ASX-listed retailer from the Crane Group where she was general counsel for eight years.  She replaces Caroline Waldron who oversaw the company’s sexual harassment case, involving a former staff member and former CEO Mark McInnes.

Sally Ascroft, the former group general counsel and company secretary of The Trust Company has been appointed as the general counsel for Mission Australia. She was with Trust for two years after an extensive career in private practice at Mallesons Stephen Jaques (now King & Wood Mallesons).

Q Super and First State Super have also added new general counsels, Alexandra Rose and Ian Pendleton respectively. Rose joins from ANZ Wealth while Pendleton was formerly head of legal, risk and compliance at Perpetual.
