Recently merged law firm Gowling WLG has entered into an exclusive association with JurisAsia, a Singapore intellectual property boutique.

JurisAsia was founded recently by IP specialist Sheena Jacob, who spent six years as a partner with Bird & Bird ATMD in Singapore, prior to shorter stints at Joyce A. Tan & Partners and Tan Rajah & Cheah.

The firm’s other partner is Arthur Yap, formerly of Tan Kok Quan Partnership and Bird & Bird. Meanwhile, Gowling WLG’s Singapore office also has two partners, including office head Andrew Dobson.

Gowling WLG was formed last year following the merger of Canada’s Gowlings and the UK’s Wragge Lawrence Graham, which in turn was created as a result of a merger between Wragge & Co. and Lawrence Graham (LG). Dobson joined Lawrence Graham in 1995.

The legacy LG previously had a licence to practice as a foreign firm in Singapore, as well as an alliance with local practice PK Wong & Associates.

In Singapore, Gowling WLG specialises in private client work, dispute resolution and advising clients on real estate investments in Europe and North America.
