The Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) has welcomed another managing counsel to its team: Wesley Pang from Shearman & Sterling. He joins Joe Liu, who was appointed in June 2016.
Pang will help the team’s senior lawyers in overseeing the administration of arbitrations under HKIAC. He is also expected to support the secretary-general’s work and the business development team by promoting the use of HKIAC arbitration as well as other forms of dispute resolution in Asia and worldwide.
Pang was an associate in Shearman’s international arbitration practice in the New York, Paris and London offices for more than eight years. He focused primarily on international commercial and investor-state arbitrations, as well as securities and corporate litigation, and government regulatory investigations.
“I am delighted with the addition of Wesley to HKIAC,” said Matthew Gearing, QC, chairperson of HKIAC, in a statement. “His background and experience will be beneficial to HKIAC as it continues to grow and evolve its dispute resolution services.”
