Holman Fenwick Willan has announced the opening of a Perth office. The office will be led by new recruit Julian Sher,  mostly recently at the bar but also a former managing partner of the Corrs office in Perth. Sher will be joined by newly appointed partner Hazel Brewer and James Donoghue, a recent lateral hire from Blake Dawson.

Well known for its expertise in shipping and transportation matters, the firm said in a statement that it was particularly interested in the West Australian offshore oil & gas and mining industries. Insurance, corporate, projects and finance were also cited as areas of interest.

Holman Fenwick also has offices in Sydney and Melbourne. It now has 14 partners and 30 associates.
“We have served clients in Perth and Western Australia for many years and as we continue to see growth in on and offshore natural resources and the global movement of high volumes of freight, taking this important step was a natural choice,” said Australian managing partner Gavin Vallely.
