Arbitration Chambers, a set of leading independent international arbitrators, has opened in London at the Lamb Building in Middle Temple.
Established in 2012, it was the first chambers in Hong Kong dedicated solely to the practice of international arbitration. Its roster of arbitrators include illustrious figures like Neil Kaplan, former judge of the High Court of Hong Kong; John Beechey, former president of the ICC International Court of Arbitration and founder of Clifford Chance’s international arbitration practice; and Lord Hope of Craighead, former deputy president of the UK Supreme Court.
Its expansion to the UK capital comes amid relative uncertainty in the country following last year’s Brexit vote.
“While many law firms and financial institutions appear to be foregoing or postponing decisions on further investment into London at this time, Arbitration Chambers has demonstrated its commitment to the city, with the view that London will continue to remain a leading global centre for international dispute resolution,” the group said in a statement.
