HWL Ebsworth has poached Herbert Geer partner Steven Smith for its Melbourne property group.

Smith has extensive experience across all aspects of commercial property, including development projects, acquisition and disposal of commercial, industrial and retail property, property joint ventures and subdivision developments. He has particular expertise in acting for developers and operators of retirement villages and aged care facilities and is an acknowledged industry leader in this area.

Smith’s experience also covers a broad range of general commercial matters, including company and business acquisitions, commercial contracting and domestic and international joint ventures.

He will be joining HWL Ebsworth on 2 July 2012.
