Intellectual property law specialist Rouse has opened a new office in Cambodia as part of its Asia expansion strategy.
The new office, located in Phnom Penh, will have five team members. It will be headed by the firm’s current Hong Kong and Vietnam country manager Chris Vale, along with Sokunvannary (Vannary) Tep, a Cambodian trademark attorney.
The firm will offer strategic portfolio management, disputes and enforcement services to large U.S. and European law firms operating in the region and to new clients who have presence in the country.
“The ASEAN region represents a huge growth opportunity for us and our clients. Cambodia is one of the fastest growing economies in Asia and we know the demand for our services in the country is high – both from our existing client base, and from new and prospective clients,” said Rouse’s chief executive Luke Minford.
Rouse also has presence in other ASEAN countries including Myanmar, Thailand, Philippines, and Indonesia.
In 2015, Tilleke & Gibbins opened an office in Phnom Penh to focus on intellectual property law.
