Indian law firm J. Sagar Associates (JSA) has opened a new office in Ahmedabad in the state of Gujarat. The new office commenced operations from Jan. 1, 2015 and is the firm’s seventh in the country.

Bijal Chhatrapati, a senior lawyer with nearly three decades of experience in dispute resolution, M&A and corporate commercial matters, is heading the Ahmedabad office in the capacity of equity partner. Chhatrapati was previously with Singhi & Co, and is also a solicitor and member of the Bombay Incorporated Law Society.

JSA’s Chennai office, after a merger with Vichar Partners in March, became functional earlier this year in April.

JSA was founded in 1991 by Jyoti Sagar and presently has offices in Bengaluru, Chennai, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi with a headcount of more than 340 lawyers.
