Top Korean law firm Kim & Chang is leading the nominations for Asian Legal Business’ inaugural Korea Law Awards with a total of 18 nods – eight individual category nominations and ten deal category nominations. Fellow Korean giants Lee & Ko and Shin & Kim have both been nominated in seven separate law firm categories.

International firms have also had a strong showing, with Herbert Smith Freehills being nominated in four categories, and Ropes & Gray closely following with three. Several other well-known global firms also have been nominated for many deals they were involved in during the past year. The event also celebrates in-house expertise, and in this field, Samsung Engineering has been the pick of the field with four nominations, including the coveted in-house lawyer and in-house team of the year sections.

Winners will be announced on Nov. 14, Thursday, at a gala event at the Renaissance Hotel, central Seoul.

The event will be attended by senior business leaders, investment bankers, solicitors, judges, CEOs and CFOs from Korea and beyond. Members of the press are invited to register to attend.
