Kim & Chang emerged as the biggest victor at the 4th annual ALB Korea Law Awards, taking home seven gongs, including the coveted Korea Law Firm of the Year prize. Bae, Kim & Lee also won major awards, including Deal Firm of the Year, while Lee & Ko scored in two categories, including Banking and Financial Services Law Firm of the Year.

Held at the Grand Hyatt Seoul on November 17, this year’s ceremony featured several new categories, including Private Equity Law Firm of the Year, an honour that went to Shin & Kim. Another new title up for grabs was the Manufacturing In-House Team of the Year, which went to chemical and autoparts manufacturer KCC Corporation. The company also took home the Kim & Chang Award In-House Team of the Year, giving it the most wins for the in-house division.

Another highlight of the event was the M&A Deal of the Year (Premium), which was a tie between MBK Partners' Acquisition of Homeplus from Tesco PLC and the Korea Exxchang Bank (KEB)-Hana Bank merger. MBK Partners' acquisition deal ended up winning Deal of the Year.

Meanwhile, luxury automaker and diamond sponsor BMW added more glamour to the night’s festivities with its onstage car display.
