Latham & Watkins, Wachtell Lipton Rosen & Katz and Jones Walker have advised telecom major CenturyLink on its $34-billion merger deal with U.S. Internet service provider Level 3 Communications, which was represented by Willkie Farr & Gallagher. 

Level 3 is one of the companies on Singapore Technologies Telemedia’s portfolio. STT Crossing, ST Telemedia's wholly owned subsidiary, holds about 18 per cent of Level 3's outstanding common stock.

The Latham & Watkins team included Singapore partners Michael Sturrock and Min Yee Ng and Orange County/New York partner Charles Ruck. Advice on competition matters was provided by San Francisco partner Joshua Hoian.
